Film Interview
Episode 4 of Corbeau Art Space's Creative Isolation and Beyond project.
In this episode of the Creative Isolation and Beyond series we meet the multi-talented musician and all round creative Ian Lilburne. A lovely man with an abundance of knowledge, forethought and love of musical prose, this interview is not to be missed.
Ian has worked for more than 30 years in the arts industry of Western Australia, known for his role as the first director of the Artsrage Festival (now Fringe World). I ask Ian about his introduction into creativity as a young man, his career in Arts management and collaborating with fellow artisans on projects such as his third album of original material, Mystery of the Rose.
The interview footage is a treat to watch as we see Ian performing for us one of his original pieces. He has a voice and way with lyrical narrative that is thought provoking and mindful of Cohen. Another highlight is his recount of Perth’s music scene in the 80s. The honest advice given to young creatives, particularly those situated in WA is part of the interview not to be missed.
I really enjoyed doing this interview. A true talent.
Thank you to JAK Films for filming, editing and producing the series.
